Course Overview

The Valspar Championship is the final event of the PGA Tour’s Florida Swing, played at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Copperhead plays to approximately 7,340 yards at par 71 through natural pine and oak trees with elevation changes unusual for Florida. The “Snake Pit” — holes 16, 17, and 18 — is one of the toughest finishing stretches on Tour, routinely deciding the outcome.

The relatively small Bermuda greens and overhanging trees create demanding conditions, and the tree-lined corridors make accuracy off the tee essential throughout the round.

What to Look For

Keeping the ball out of the trees is the primary objective. Approach play to the small, firm Bermuda greens and scrambling ability are at a premium. Past champions include Sam Burns, Matt Fitzpatrick, Patrick Reed, and Paul Casey.

Now this is one trciky course as Last year Keith Mitchell had conquered the SNAKE PIT only to crash and burn late. I did look at 12 players overall but of those 50% were not even Top 50 in significant stats. JOEL DAHMEN playing well in 2025 sitting @- 34th in SG total (strokes gained overall) 36th off the Tee 15th Approach to Green Terrible stats around the green with the putter (overall @ 113th) but TEE TO GREEN @ #22 & driving accuracy @ #35 which makes sense. ***Even though his putter according to stats is NOT running hot he still went 68, 69, 65 & 65 in MEXICO for a T6 and the back to back 65 means he can PUTT when he has to. In fact of his last 12 rounds he has gone 8 in the mid 60's. His form looks ideal here, Again risky playing a CAPTAIN in fantasy golf as it is not based on odds but if he can do a DETRY for me we could score valuable points. The smart play would be putting the CAPTAIN to STRAKA, THOMAS, LOWRY or CONNERS so here is hoping.
