DPWT DP World India Championship 2025 — Golf Picks, Tips & Analysis

Arrives in good form with a T3 @ Alfred Dunhill Links course and last week in Spain Parry was a late finishing T23 and as tight tree lined courses are a strong reference this week he did perform well @ Soudal Open in Belgium with a T4.

Currently ranked 7^th on the DPWT-

• Positives SG gained with his putter in all 4 rounds in Spain last week
• 15th in Driving Accuracy in Spain with 58.93% of Fairways hit
• 2nd in GIR in Spain with 73.61% of Greens in Regulation
• 13th in T2G in Spain
• 8 of his last 10 events on this Tour in Positive SG Total

This Englishman has been solid in the majority of events he has played in and worth noting his 2^nd @ The Kenya Open he cared rounds of 63,65,72,68 with his only blemish on Day 3, he lost the event by 2 strokes, he just has to play consistent golf on all 4 days, normally he can maintain, Parry has the recent momentum and his odds reflect this.

Of the players under $50 to Win outright he profiles as the man to beat.

The LIV player returns home in which he is one of  the better local hopes with a long proven course history & whilst he has not won an event on LIV he does boast 2 x DP tour wins and knows this course well with-

• 2015 HERO Open with -7
• 2013 SAIL-SBI Open with -15
• 2012 SAIL-SBI Open with -14
• 2011 Panasonic Open with -13

As a local with strong course history this could prove highly advantageous for this normally well rounded player who has a best finish of a T2 @ Virginia in June.

His stronger skill set is his SG: ARG play with 10 of his last 13 events in Positive strokes gained, he clearly looks the best of the locals & I think we are getting a little bit of overs despite strong proven course history.

No stranger to us as we have previously tipped this South African who won most recently @ OMEGA Masters in Switzerland then missing the Cut @ Amgen Irish Open & PGA BMW Championship before regathering & bouncing back with a T48 @ PGA Sanderson Farms & last week in Spain a better T23 which he was 1^st in one very important SG metric that suits this course this week-

• 4^th in SG: T2G with +2.72 strokes gained-Tee to Green will need to be on in India
• 1^st in SG: APG with +2.53 stroked gained on Avg each day
• GIR was consistent with 62.5% but his last 12 events is 68% on Avg
• 23^rd in SG: ARG in Spain importantly though he was 2^nd in Scrambling
• Lost 1.21 strokes in PUTTING in Spain each day yet his last 14 events he has been in Positive SG in 7 for a 50% SR and 4 of those 7 were less than -0.50 strokes.

Now Lawrence has put 2 solid results back-to-back & his usually consistent Approach play will be rewarded along with his acceptable Driving Accuracy (sits in the top half of the field) I prefer him to feature up the leaderboard and not Win in India.

It was only 3 months ago that the Frenchman was rewarded with consistent results winning the Italian Open with a -14 but he had been building up to a win with a T7 in Kenya (a similar layout to Delhi) & into a T3 in Singapore & 5^th @ HERO Indian Open.

Key stats for this week include-

• Made 6 Cuts from his last 7 events with 5 straight cuts
• Last 2 events a T5 @ Amgen Irish Open & 2^nd in the DP-PGA BMW Championship
• 5 of his last 8 events in Positive SG: Putting
• 6 of his last 8 events in Positive SG: ARG

He generally can hold his own OTT as he showed in his more recent 2^nd @ the Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey (DP-PGA BMW) which was won by Alex Noren, Saddier was-

• 33^rd in SG: OTT
• 36^th in Driving Accuracy finding 66% of Fairways
• 2^nd in SG: T2G with a strong 75% in GIR bolstering his overall stats.

With his recent form and with his first DP win out of the way his skill set suits this weekend and he usually sits in the Top 10 early but I am leveraging more for a Top 10 finish only as we still have both Rory & Tommy playing.

1 of 10 players that are overdue for their first victory on the DPWT.

Currently sitting a high

• 48^th in DPWT rankings (with no wins)
• 6 x Top 20 results on Tour from his past 25 events
• 5 of those Top 10s including his T2 @ DP HERO Indian Open in late March.

I was watching replays of Soudal Open, Kenya Open & Spain as the course this week is most similar and he was T9 @ Soudal as he DNP in Kenya & last week in Spain his finish of T47 just did not justify how well he was playing in most SG metrics.

On a closer look in Spain and watching the replay Jordan was just so close to breaking out-

• 28^th in SG: ARG with +0.56 strokes gained each day
• 88^th in GIR which is not normal as he usually sits in Top 30 most events
• 42^nd in SG: PUT with +0.44 strokes gained on Avg each day

This is not his usual stats though hence making mention of them as when he does result well he would normally like his T9 @ Soudal Open in Belgium look more like this-

• 7^th in Par 3 scoring
• 5^th in Par 4 scoring
• SG: OTT in Positive strokes gained with +0.25
• SG: APG in Positive strokes gained with +0.56
• SG: ARG in positives stokes gained with +0.22
• SG: PUT in positives strokes gained with +0.33

In Belgium he was only 1 stroke off John Parry who is playing strongly and was only 4 away from eventual winner Kristoffer Reitan who has carded an amazing 62 on the final day & who has also carded a better 60 in Austria, Reitan is red hot flying.

Another player who I prefer for Top 20 as we have the likes of Rory & Tommy here, would have preferred them not to be however as Jordan already has close to a 25% SR to Top 20 in his last 25 events the safer less risk play is Top 20.

We had selected this South African at the PGA Barracuda where he played well for a T4 & I feel his skill set does set up sweetly for this tighter tree lined course & I think we will see improved results into early 2026.

After 4 straight Cuts from late May through to June he got moving with a T19 @ DP BMW International, with the best of his most recent 5 straight results a Win @ home in the local South African Vodacom @ Devondale, it was full of locals backed up with a T39 in Spain last week.

In Spain-

114^th in SG: OTT yet only losing on Avg 0.93 strokes each day

6^th in SG: ARG with +1.05 strokes each day

18^th in Scrambling

1^st in Sand Saves

6^th in SG: PUT and tat was his sweet spot with the putter

2^nd in ONE PUTTS again highlighting how well he played with his Putter

I still recall his Win in Kenya which is one of 3 courses so very similar in Layout, his interview was he wanted to take a 3 shot into the remaining holes as "you never know what can happen" but he was strong there with 69,66,64,67.

• 8^th overall in SG: PUT in Kenya
• 4^th in SG: T2G
• 9^th in SG: APG

I think he can hold his own OTT as I have been following JK for a while so understanding his style of play & he has been in positives SG in 6 of his last 12 events and 5 of the other 6 he was as low as -0.07 Strokes lost so again he can hold his own OTT.

He will be a player that I will back personally for the Outright Win around $180 & drifting.

Possibly the lesser known of the English players this 23 yr old will no doubt have a better 2026 yet he still has some solid results in 2025 including a T13 @ the tricky Scottish Links course (NEXO Championships) & his highest in 2025 a 3^rd @ Danish Open in Mid August.

His last 2 results were back to back most recently making the Cut @ Spain last week with a good T23 on the back of a T83 @ Alfred Dunhill Links won by Robert Macintyre, Schmidt was there the first 2 days with a 65,72 then on day 3 carded 76 this was however the vent that was resulted as a 54 hole event not a 72 due to weather.

The avg on Day 3 was 71.

I will focus more on Madrid Spain and highlight what we are seeing including his best finish in Denmark.

Spain-

• 10^th in SG: OTT with +1.15 strokes gained on Avg each day (last week had elite drivers)
• 1^st in Driving Accuracy finding 73,21% of Fairways- valuable here
• 21^st in SG: APG
• 24^th in GIR with a strong 65.28% greens found- leader had only 67.8%
• SG: PUT overall +0.74 strokes in total gained
• 14th in Par scoring

I mentioned Par 4 scoring as most golf courses do lend birdie opportunities so if players cannot at least Par these holes, then happy to pass.

Whilst looking back @ Danish Open he was better with his Putter overall but beaten by Marco Penge is good form lines as he has now 3 x DP events in his last 16 events.

• 17^th in SG: PUT with +1.36 strokes gained each day
• 10^th in SG: OTT with +1.36 strokes gained each day
• 10^th in SG: T2G with all 4 x SG metrics in Positive strokes
• 6^th in Par 4 scoring

I mentioned Par 4 scoring as most golf courses do lend birdie opportunities so if players cannot at least Par these holes, then happy to pass.

He is around $210 and another drifting to Win, I do not think it will be here but he is $13 to Top 10 @ $5.50, like most of our 8 players it would be more profitable backing in the markets as selected due to the presence of Rory & Tommy & company.

In saying that I am yet to see Brian Harman peaking but he has been in Positive strokes total in 10 of his last 12 events worldwide.

Let's see how everyone fairs on what is normally a tricky course but there was no late mail sent out last week due to Max Greyserman challenging but this week could see a value play identified so a Late Mail may be coming out.

The roughie I guess we could call him and although I do not think he wins his stats are showing me that a surprise breakout performance could be likely at home for him this weekend.

In Spain last weekend he was the most consistent I have witnessed of late with a T41 but he sat relatively high with his very best SG metric being-

• 4^th in SG: APG
• 42^nd in SG: T2G with his Iron play crips unfortunately his Putter could not convert more chances
• 31^st in GIR finding 63.89% of Greens
• 10^th in Scrambling & on a course where most will struggle

Another positive is that Sharma Shubhankar Sharma holds the course record at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Delhi, with an -8 (64) that he shot during the 2^nd round of the 2018 Hero Indian Open. He set the record with 9 birdies & only 1 bogey that day of play.

Sharma also was good in Spain with only 2.25 bogeys per round in Madrid yet he was stronger on Par 3 scoring sitting in 43^rd overall along with 28^th in Par 4 scoring, the bogeys came on Par 5 holes.

I just get the feeling he may shine at home and I prefer him for Top 20 @ $12.50 as he is aiming for 3 straight results & he still has 2 wins to his name on the DPWT there a few flying well under $100 to Win the event who still are winless & he was higher in SG: ARG than John Parry in Spain.

Aim to be matched on Betfair anywhere from $15 to $20 as he is on a drift at time of Analysis.
