MM is our free player pick for this event, apart from his CUT at last weeks The OPEN Championship he had been playing good golf to include making 11 straight cuts that included 6 x T20 results but most importantly 9 events he was in +strokes gained putting.
Also, in that run MM was 10/11 events +strokes gained around the green which franked his 13th ranking amongst all players in 2026.

MM has been building and with the lesser line up (most of the T30 OWGR are absent) he can pick up strokes around the green & my chat today with The Stig, I highlighted how this course is #1 for water balls lost & in 2025 alone 60 found the water on the 18th hole alone.
Players will need to be on song with ball striking, after opening around $45 in early USA markets but $28 in Australia on betfair he has now stabilised around $34, that is very fair considering Scheffler is $3.85 versus the field @ $34.

SIM can be a hard player to catch as we have previously selected him now 3 times since he returned, another simple equation to solve is he needs to find greens better than he has & has lost strokes now in 13 of his last 14 events.
The positive was last week where each day around Royal Birkdale he was in +SG: APG each day, his putter was good as was he around the greens which saw a good T14 @ the last major of 2026.

Simply put we just need SIM to be better with his wedge & irons, if he solves this his around green play will see him challenge the leaders & after opening around $42 on betfair he has drifted to $60, try for +$80 as many analysts are not giving him much hope.
As we have seen players can click for a weekend, his T5 @ PGA Truist was his best result in 2026 & how SIM played last week was very similar. Again, if he solves his wedge & iron play he will contest.

- 2025 x T20

We have entertained him once or twice in 2026 and always consider him in these lesser fields when most of the top players are absent, EG currently sits in 109th in FedEx rankings and with only a few events left players will need to crack the T100 or otherwise they will have to play in other events to try and qualify.
We really like what we have seen in his last 3 events on the PGA circuit with

His putting looks poor at first glance but in the other 5 he has only lost between -0.20 strokes to an average of -0.46 each day, his worst event was @ Genesis Scottish Open where he lost on avg -1.16 each day.
Many of the top OWGR players were sent home early.
Personally, he should have stayed in USA but the experience in playing in all 4 days in both the big events over the pond will have matured him more quickly & his confidence should be sky high!
His overall 2nd in SG: OTT amongst all PGA players in 2026 can take him along way here as this is a long course in yardage but he will have to be careful with his irons as this course also ranks 1st in highest ranked for BALLS FINDING WATER, since 2019 too!
We have seen enough of his game to think he can surprise a few here this weekend & after opening around $75 he has firmly found support @ $85 on betfair, normally a player that is +$100 in most events we can only say he is firm due to his over the pond results.
Now $100 as of 12:30pm on betfair.

We have decided to stay the course on this lefty as we have selected him a few times over the last 3 months, but BH has been consistent, but what he has lacked is dazzling round at any event, he has been consistent without that one off super day which would make the difference.

We just think after BH now has had 10 of his last 13 events in +SG: PUT it will instil a greater confidence around a course where he has played zero times, sometimes this only helps and he has always been consistent of the tee with his game improving dramatically since the PGA HERO World Challenge in December up till the PGA Arnold Palmer Invitational.
**That run from December to March saw BH only achieve 11/35 (31.4%) in strokes gained metrics which PGT measure (7 events) compared to 44/65 (67.7&) in 13 events from march to now in July.
BH is trending very well with his dramatically improved game, he will just need to not only be consistent but have a good day hopefully on days 3 & 4.
After opening around $80 AEST late on Monday night he has found support around $100 on betfair, he is our value play, and I would like to be matched around $120 if possible but will happily accept $100 as we have priced him for this event around $60.
The attempt @ $120 on betfair is for the why not, always try for better odds, worst case you get matched at the selected price.

Firstly, we did a play-off scenario between Gaz V Potty.
In 75% of the playoff Gaz beat Potty, we had selected Potty a few times recently (see website for in depth analysis) but this course fits Gaz better IMO & he does have 3 from 4 results around here and we can easily argue Gaz is playing his best golf in 2026.
With 1 Win + 4 x T10 in 2026 & we can rely on his usually good wedge & iron play in which we have seen 51% of the last 5 winners have very good SG: APG & we can break it down further that 22% had come from approach shots between 175-200 yards.

Last 6 events

GW has had +SG: OTT in 10 of his last 12 events and he is 6th in driving distance + 1st in club head speed (127.54) which I think we will see Gaz turn his last few events around he can make more yards on the fairways and set up his 2nd shot better than most, we got it right when he won the PGA Texas Children’s Open and his approach play was worse leading into that.
This is an event he can turn it all around on a course that suits his skillset, after opening around $80 on betfair there has been little support for Gaz and there is plenty of $110 to be matched on betfair, due to his last 4 events being poor I would suggest try being matched for +$130.
We will know on day 1 if he has turned up to play.

Back to a familiar course and like the PGA National Champions course when 2nd.
It is closely ranked to this with so many water hazards and lost water balls.
TM has only played this course twice and has resulted in 2 x T15-
TM can bring his usually sound irons into action.

His putting is better than what we have seen from 2/6 as he only lost on avg -0.45 strokes per round so not much needs improving, when he was 2nd in March he was ranked 4th in SG: PUT so around here he can set up better opportunities.
After opening up around $130 on betfair there is mostly around $200 ($62 to be matched) on offer now on betfair, I would try for +240 as at first glance his form is priced like that, we know him due to our player database and around $100 is a fair price, he will need a quick start on day 1 though.

Putnam is a player from “past tipped” which we want to include, he does require everything to go right to win, you can go deep into stats on our website.
- 9th x scrambling @ 65.22%
His scrambling which we ranked as #2 factor when doing form around here and he is 9th amongst all PGA players, currently ranked 68th in FedEx AP has firmly secured his 2027 so he will not be playing under pressure like those already above T100.
**With 4 players from “past tipped” we suggest only 0.25 units so across all 4 players it will only cost 1 unit in total. On betfair there is around $2000 which is surprising to me as his all-round game is better than 60% of the field.
You could try and get matched for well above +$300 as there has been no support. Smaller increments are a much better chance of being matched.

CK has found our roughie picks a few times in 2026 and at least twice that I can recall of late without having to look it up.
His results are generally better in the back half of the year, but he can improve on his T14 in 2025 with Taylor Moore, CK can rely on his 70% in +SG: OTT, +85% in +SG: APG & he also is 50% in +SG: ARG the only metric he needs to focus on is his putting.
Again, you can look up very deep analysis of CK on the website as a past tipped player.
**With 4 players from “past tipped” we suggest only 0.25 units so across all 4 players it will only cost 1 unit in total. After opening early on betfair around $150 he has slowly but is drifting each day out to an acceptable $290 on betfair. We have liked CK is the past few months, he is a winner of 9 events (6 x PGA wins) & unlike most being a tour veteran he has played well under pressure, he will be doing so as he is ranked currently @ 146th in FedEx so he needs good results in the next 3 events. A win seals his next 2 years.

The Tornado as we have called him had terrific Japanese form winning 9 JPA events, his junior golf was as good as Hideki but there are not many players that can drive a ball any straighter than the “tornado”.
If he ever misses fairways, you know his game is off.
His around greens play is very good (22nd in PGA 2026) as is his putting, in a field where the depth is not as strong as other PGA events it would not take much for him to “POP”.
Another player who needs results fast as TK needs to improve on his current #146 in FedEx points, in 2025 at this event he was right there with a T7 and was -17 on day 4 before eventual winner Kurt Kitayama pulled away from the chasers.
TK also went on to finish T4 @ PGA Baycurrent Classic in Japan (Xander won) & backed it up with a T3 @ PGA Butterfield Bermuda so his star was shining bright.
**With 4 players from “past tipped” we suggest only 0.25 units so across all 4 players it will only cost 1 unit in total & after opening early on betfair around $250 TK has drifted to a very acceptable $340, still drifting at the time of summary try & get matched for well above +$400.

You can see the very long analysis we gave EVR on the website; we were concerned about a niggling back injury he had but he then resulted 3 x T20s in his next 6 straight events (made cut in 6 of his last 7) which improves his overall making cuts stat of only 47.05% to +85%.
**With 4 players from “past tipped” we suggest only 0.25 units so across all 4 players it will only cost 1 unit in total. The last of our players with the smaller investment strategy and unlike Takumi who has a better overall game than EVR, despite this South African having won 2 x PGA already and possibly should be 4 x PGA winner with narrow misses and 1 was a defeat by Ryan Gerard who is turning into a very good pro.
EVR will need to result well her as he sits @ #140 in Fed Ex points as his last PGA Win was in late 2023 so his exemption long expired, after opening around $250 on betfair there is now $390 available, try and get matched for +$500, we have members who have sent me messages like this suggestion and said “I got matched for $800”
**Updated as of 12:30pm on 22nd July @ $640 win on betfair.
we sent a message to PGT members for the Scottish Open to have a little more on Ryan Fox, some got between $900 to $970 after day 2 when we tipped him @ $200 to win before day 1. a few of you stuck firm and backed Foxy last week at $270 winning The OPEN, so congratulations, well played, alas I did not!
Always try and get matched even for what may seem unrealistic prices, betfair goes to $1000 & honestly, we follow each day always and you would be surprised how a player can increase by 100-300% after day 1 yet only be 4 shots off the leaders.
Case in point = Chris Gotterup, we left him alone as he was only $12 on day 1 but we got $85 as the late mail on day 4 & yes he had to come from 9 shots off but he was the best player in that field, we try and play the value! the summary said it all.
Betfair is an education but also a very good opportunity, we will cover this when we go youtube live in December.
**Trying our new format- We have a total of 14 players for this events which represents 9.7% of the field (144 players) and a total of 11 units out ( based on 10 players x 1 unit + 4 players x 0.25 units = 11 units total).
The new format/strategy is to capture even more winners!
Maybe lightening strikes twice scenario for this South African?
